Late this week the main elevator passed inspection and began general operation. This process included testing of the elevator system with weights simulating various loads, emergency stopping capability and a thorough inspection by both the elevator installers as well as the LA Department of Building and Safety. This means that the external man lift that has been providing transportation between various levels can finally be removed, allowing construction crews to seal the final large opening in the western face of the building.
Work is now underway installing the second (larger) freight elevator.
